Poor State of the Union: Part 1(of 3)

WOW!  Not to take away from the SOTU, but WHAT HAPPENED TO JOHN KERRY??!!!  He looked like he just caught a right hook from Michelle Obama!

Ok, back to the SOTU Address.  If you don't think that was a campaign speech, think about how much legislation and "new plans" he rolled out in that speech.  Do you really think he can get that done in his last year??  NOT A CHANCE!  He basically jedi mind tricked everyone into thinking "we need to give this guy 4 more years so he can get all of this done."

The funny thing is that all the republican analysts predicted that Obama's speech would be "more of the same", and that's just what he delivered!  The President and his administration think the American people are so stupid, with such short memories, he could come out and preach the same BS from previous speech's and everyone would just awe in amazement of his "new plan".  This video (above) illustrates this very well.  The truth is that America is still waiting on the President to fulfill the promises from his last State of the Union!  Remember these?  Education reform, immigration initiatives, and perhaps the biggest flop of all, a freeze on annual domestic spending (the debt ceiling is in the process of being raised again by the way).

If you were paying attention, you would have noticed ole Joe Biden handing the GOP another great clip/sound bite!  Just as Obama mentions "controlling our own energy", poor Joe tries his best to hold off a loud COUGH, but just as his boss's policies, he failed.  The GOP's could not have expressed their disgust any better, thanks for that Joe!  Of course the President doesn't explain his decision regarding the Keystone Pipeline which would help America do just that, control our own energy.  He goes on to mention opening up drilling offshore (which he mentioned in 2011 and we still haven't seen any action) and investing in places like Brazil (who by the way is selling a lot of their newly drilled oil, funded by the american taxpayers, to CHINA!).  And even after all the media attention regarding Solyndra and other failed "green energy investments", Obama presses on, saying that he's not going to give up on green energy.  Please President Obama, please spend more of our money on uneconomical technologies because "it's the right thing to do"!  Is this guy on crack?  Is he insane?  Did he really think America wanted to hear that??

And then came the President's guests.  One of which has gotten a lot of media play in this administration's class warfare campaign.  We're talking, of course, about Warren Buffet's secretary.  The poor old secretary who is treated unfairly by the tax code because her boss pays less of a percentage of income in taxes as she does.  The fact that Obama tries to paint this woman as a victim is despicable!  How is she a victim??  She is an employed individual who probably makes 6 figures working under one of the wealthiest men in the world.  You don't think she owns stock in some of her boss's companies?  Guess what tax rate she pays on those dividends!  Why isn't that coming out in the liberal media?

What did you think about the President's address?  More to come, stay tuned.

BS OVERLOAD!

Due to the amount of BS that was spewed last night it is taking this blog longer than expected to respond.  We apologize for the delay.  Stay tuned, you won't be disappointed!

DING DING DING: ROMNEY VS GINGRICH

AND THE GLOVES COME OFF!  In the GOP Primary Debate on Monday, the frontrunners, Romney and Gingrich, went toe to toe.  Like a scene out of Rocky 47, exchanges what seemed like never ending blows until NBC’s Brian Williams steps in for a necessary commercial break.  Unfortunately, when coverage returned, the bell didn’t signal for round 2, rather the subject was changed and the next question went to Santorum, reminding everyone in TV Land that “oh yeah, there are 4 candidates in this debate!”.

A lot was said by Romney pushing current frontrunner, Newt Gingrich, back on his heels.  Romney focused his attacks on the Speaker’s forced resignation as House Speaker based on ethics charges and his time spent consulting for Freddie Mac, as well as his advocacy for Medicare Part D which was healthcare policy aimed at preventative medicine in order to lower costs.  CNN, perhaps one of the most liberal mass media network released this fact check article where they basically dismiss Romney’s attack as misleading.  The Speaker is correct, there’s a huge difference between lobbying (where ex politicians throw money at office holders through contributions, entertainment, and gifts) and advocacy (where one promotes a cause based on one’s values and beliefs for a good cause).  If all Gingrich did was pick up a phone and urge politicians to vote for legislation, that is a far cry from lobbying (as it’s viewed in its negative connotation).

Although Romney’s attacks seem to be a distortion of the truth, they may prove to be a helpful to his plight.  In this heavy weight bout, Round 2 goes to Romney.  Round 3 is Thursday, January 26th, (I'm pretty sure Santorum and Paul will be there too) where topics of discussion will most likely be Romney’s recent release of his tax returns, a possible calculated rebuttal from Gingrich, and Obama’s campaign speech… oops I mean State of the Union Address on Tuesday night.  Should be another interesting week in Politics!

NEWT CRUSHES IN SOUTH CAROLINA

NEWT CRUSHES IN SOUTH CAROLINA!  Was there any doubt after the man, the myth, the Newtster handed John King, from CNN, his rear end in the first minute of the GOP debate on Thursday night?   Although it was the largest margin of victory so far in the GOP Primaries, leave it to Carl Rove and his white board to point out that his margin was within the margin of historical margins… blah blah blah.  Thanks for the chicken scratch on a learning tool used by kindergarten teachers.  Anyways, despite what Newt’s opposition constantly says about him (he’s arrogant, he belittles others, he’s racist, the usual left garbage), Gingrich delivered the classiest speech possible.  He not only gave thanks to all of his supporters and named each campaign contributor by name like a celebrity who just won an Oscar, but he went the extra mile to point out the great attributes of his fellow GOP opponents as he drew similarities between himself and Santorum, Romney, and yes, even Paul (sorry, that was a cheap shot, we like Ron for the most part).  Let’s not forget that anyone of the 4 candidates still in the race would be a much better president than Obama!

SO, what does this mean?  Well, for now, not much.  We’ve had 3 different candidates win in the 3 different primaries.  We’ve got a long political road ahead of us.  If you’d like a prediction, Ron Paul will drop out after Florida.  Our guess is that Romney will appeal to his moderate base seeing as how Florida is made up of mostly retired northern liberals and moderates…  BUT, with the recent senatorial election of Marco Rubio, who was a conservative tea party candidate, we may see an interesting finish in the Orange State.  Only time will tell. But, in the words of Rick Santorum, “Game On!”.

Silly liberals...

Week in Politics

WHAT A WEEK IN POLITICS!  We had 2 GOP debates where Gingrich racked up at least 4 standing O’s, a presidential decision which was appallingly political/anti-jobs/anti-American energy, and one of America’s greatest wonderlands (Disneyland) was shut down so that the President could stand tall beside Mickey and Goofy (basically his cabinet) and campaign for millions of dollars while he denounces the very rich who support him just so he can appeal to his base.

Where do I start?  Let’s start from the top.  Gingrich is on a tear, continuing to be the smartest person in the room with the approval of South Carolina voters.  Was he out of line with his remarks about Santorum getting out of the race?  Perhaps.  But did he make a great point?  Yes!  There seems to be two types of republican voters in this primary race, the Romney voters and the anti-Romney voters (Sorry Ron Paul supporters, but I’m putting you in this group, even though you’ll probably take offense to it).  BUT, he does make a good point.  Santorum, and I’m sorry if you support him, does not have the experience needed to win the General Election!  Santorum has as much experience as Obama does, yet Obama didn’t win on his experience (despite what loony Wasserman Schultz says), he won on the anti-Bush vote.  Which is ironic, because despite what Krauthammer says, he will lose on the anti-Obama vote!  Republicans will come out in droves, epic numbers to vote him out of office because his “change” is literally the overturn of American values in order to get back to European socialism.
